Matric Installs New Vibration Test Equipment

Matric recently installed a new vibration test system manufactured by Unholtz-Dickie Corporation.  The Model S202 Electrodynamic Shaker system was acquired to meet current and future customer requirements for testing assembled printed circuit boards (PCB’s) and finished assemblies.    The system is designed to support a variety of applications including product development and design conformance, product qualification and certification, accelerated life testing and environmental stress screening.  New Vibration Equipment @ Matric

The S202 has a force range of 1,000 to 2,200 lbs (4.4 to 9.8kN) and an armature size of 13.3 inches (337mm).  It provides 200 g of shock and 600 lbs (272 kg) internal pneumatic load support.

The shaker is paired up with other equipment including:  a high speed computer processor, a DSP Control Engine and processor, a Random Control Module and a SMART Tool module.  A custom test fixture is necessary to properly attach the PCB’s to the test equipment.  The system is designed to test product that is small to moderate in size.

To help isolate the excessive noise generated during operation of the system, a new addition was constructed and finished earlier this year.  The addition has ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safe flooring, an air make-up system, environmental control and positive pressure to keep debris out of the testing area.

Please contact your Business Development Engineer to discuss how this new equipment may be utilized for your needs.
